History:
The Louis Vuitton Speedy bag was introduced in 1930 and originally named the "Express", capturing the era's revolution in rapid transit and travel. It was created as a smaller, everyday interpretation of the larger Keepall luggage bag. Initially launched in a 25cm size, its popularity soared globally in 1965 when actress Audrey Hepburn requested a custom, even smaller version, which led to the creation of the Speedy 25.
While the historic checkerboard Damier pattern dates back to 1888, this specific lighter Damier Azur colorway was introduced much later in 2006 to offer a casual, summer-ready alternative to the classic dark brown Damier Ebene print.
